LA GUARIA ARENAL RIVER HALF LOOP

This adventure takes you through a beautiful combination of small rural communities, open farmland, and lush tropical forest, offering a unique perspective of La Fortuna beyond the typical tourist routes. Along the way, you’ll experience peaceful countryside roads, scenic landscapes, and authentic local surroundings that truly showcase the heart of the region.

The route leads toward the Arenal River, which flows directly from Lake Arenal and is one of the main tributaries of the San Carlos River. Here, we stop at a hidden riverside beach, a quiet, picturesque spot surrounded by nature. This is the perfect place to cool off with a refreshing swim and take a well-deserved break. While you relax, you’ll enjoy a light picnic featuring fresh seasonal fruit, granola bars, and refreshing drinks.

For those looking for an extra challenge, there is the optional climb up “Cuesta de la Bestia” (Beast Hill) before heading back to La Fortuna. This section adds a rewarding physical push and incredible views, making the experience even more memorable.
