GENERAL INFORMATION
Tour Overview: Discover the rich heritage of chocolate and cool off at a hidden jungle waterfall on this half-day cultural and nature experience near Puerto Viejo. Combining Indigenous Bribri traditions, Afro-Caribbean history, and scenic rainforest landscapes, this tour offers an authentic look into the land, culture, and community-based tourism that define Costa Rica's Southern Caribbean.
What to Expect: Your journey begins with an immersive visit to a local Bribri family or Cacao Museum. You will witness the traditional, hands-on process of making chocolate, from harvesting fresh cacao fruit to roasting and grinding beans over an open fire while learning about cacao's spiritual and medicinal roots. Afterward, enjoy a scenic drive through lush Caribbean hills to a short jungle trail leading to a pristine rainforest waterfall, where you will have ample time to swim, relax, and soak in the peaceful surroundings.
Community & Culture: This tour prioritizes small group sizes and respectful, sustainable tourism by working directly with local families. It provides a unique opportunity to connect with the people who call Talamanca home and explore the Caribbean beyond the beach.
