TOUR COMPANY: LA LEONA WATERFALL​

The La Leona Waterfall Tour is one of Costa Rica’s most unique adventure hikes, combining river crossings, light climbing, swimming, and a dramatic canyon entrance that leads to a hidden waterfall inside a cave.

The adventure begins with a short 5-minute 4×4 ride from reception to the trailhead, followed by an easy forest walk of about 10–15 minutes before reaching the first river crossing. Throughout the hike, you’ll cross the river approximately five times, with water reaching knee level. Ropes are installed to help maintain balance and ensure safety.

As you continue, you’ll encounter small boulders, rock steps, and several short ladders, all assisted by ropes and guided closely by our staff. One of the most exciting parts of the tour includes swimming through narrow triangular rock formations, adding both adventure and stunning scenery to the experience.

The final stretch takes you through a narrow canyon, where you’ll use a rope to pull yourself gently against the current to enter a massive cave. Inside, you’ll discover the breathtaking La Leona Waterfall, a powerful cascade flowing into a crystal-clear pool surrounded by rock walls.

Once at the waterfall, you’ll have time to swim, relax, and take unforgettable photos before heading back the same way, always accompanied by experienced guides who ensure safety and support throughout the entire tour.
